OUR WORK

Our Three Pillars of Restoration

Thuligal Kangayam works across three key areas: native tree planting, ecosystem restoration, and environmental education. Each pillar supports long-term green cover, stronger biodiversity, and a more responsible community.

TREE PLANTING PROGRAMS

Community & Farmer Engagement

Community & Farmer Guidance Many people want to plant trees, but the real question is: what will survive here? We guide farmers, landowners, individuals, and communities to choose native species suited to their soil, water availability, and local climate. We also support them with practical guidance on land preparation, watering, sapling protection, and long-term care. Because planting with intention is the first step to restoration.

Conservation & Restoration Projects

Some lands need more than planting. They need patient restoration. At Orathupalayam, Thuligal helped restore minimum 75 acres of barren and affected land every year through almost 10,000 native tree planting, regular care, and long-term ecological work by joining hands with Vanathukul Tiruppur. The goal is to improve rainwater absorption, support groundwater recharge, protect native growth, and slowly bring the land back to life. Similar restoration work is also being carried out at Bhagavathipalayam Lake and Samandham Palayam Lake.

Educational Activities

Long-term change begins when children understand that trees are not just part of nature. They are part of their future. Through school sessions, tree walks, planting activities, and community interactions, we help young minds understand native trees, local ecology, and the responsibility of caring for the land around them. When children learn to care early, restoration becomes a culture.

Stories of Change

Words from those who have planted, supported, and witnessed Kangayam’s green return.

We treat every sapling like something we are responsible for. Not just planting it, but making sure it survives. Over time, that way of thinking spread to others around us, and today, many people feel connected to it.

Senthil Kumar

MD, Sun Print Crafts

What stood out to me is how consistently the work is done. People come together, involve communities, and keep showing up without expecting anything in return. That honesty is what makes it strong.

Suresh Kumar

MD, Podaran Foods

Earlier, trees were just part of the surroundings for me. I never really thought about them. But after being part of this, I’ve started to understand their value in a much deeper way.

PKB Shanmugam

PKB Oil Mills

There was a real issue in the village with wastewater, and there was no clear solution. When we came together and worked on it step by step, it slowly turned into something useful. Being part of that change felt meaningful.

P. Sivakumar

MD, Siva Auto Consulting

I didn’t use to think much when trees were cut down. Now, it affects me when I see it happening. That shift in thinking is something this experience gave me.

KS Prashath Kumar

MD, Sivashakthi Modern Rice Mills

When people come here, no one has to tell them what to do. They naturally show respect when they plant a tree. It doesn’t feel like an activity; it feels important.
